Analgesic series (2022-2023)
I used to draw with ink inside my mixed media pieces such as “Self-portrait” or “Algie” series. In 2022 as my health was degrading and my pain was on the maximum level, I wasn’t physically able to create large mixed-media pieces.
As the result, I started drawing with marker on paper. In the “Analgesic” series below, I immersed myself in music and entered a creative trance, letting my hand draw shapes and details, guided by vibrations and emotions.
This distracts my mind from the debilitating physical pain and I turn pain into creativity.
